Common JVVNL bill traps
JVVNL is not statewide
Rajasthan has three separate distribution companies by region — JVVNL (east, around Jaipur), AVVNL (central/south, around Ajmer) and JdVVNL (west, around Jodhpur). If your address is outside JVVNL's districts, your actual discom and billing portal differ, even though the tariff is the same.
The fixed charge is unusually steep
At ₹275 per kW of sanctioned load, a modest 2 kW household connection pays around ₹550 in fixed charges alone each month, before a single unit is billed — among the highest fixed charges of any Indian state.
Electricity duty and urban cess aren't in this estimate
Rajasthan's roughly 40 paise/unit electricity duty and an urban cess are not modelled here, so your real JVVNL bill will run a little higher than this calculator shows.
How the JVVNL bill is calculated
A high per-kW fixed charge
Rajasthan levies one of India’s steepest domestic fixed charges at around ₹275 per kW of sanctioned load per month, so a 2 kW connection pays roughly ₹550 in fixed charges before any energy is billed. The same RERC schedule applies to JVVNL, AVVNL and JdVVNL.

How to read your meter
Digital meters show a running total in kWh ("units") on an LCD display — write down the number before the decimal point. Net metering explained
Net metering lets a rooftop solar system export surplus power back to the grid through your existing meter, which runs in reverse. About JVVNL
The Rajasthan State Electricity Board (RSEB) was unbundled on 19 June 2000 into separate generation, transmission and distribution entities. Distribution was further split by region into three companies: Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd (JVVNL) for the east, Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd (AVVNL) for the central/south, and Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd (JdVVNL) for the west.
JVVNL serves Jaipur and around a dozen eastern districts — including Dausa, Alwar, Bharatpur, Kota, Bundi, Baran, Jhalawar, Sawai Madhopur and Karauli. All three Rajasthan discoms bill on the same RERC-approved tariff.
Does JVVNL supply electricity to all of Rajasthan?
No. JVVNL covers Jaipur and the eastern districts of Rajasthan. Central and southern Rajasthan (around Ajmer) is served by AVVNL, and western Rajasthan (around Jodhpur) by JdVVNL — all three use the same RERC tariff shown on this page, but bill separately.
