Quarterly billing — a Bengal quirk
Most Indian DISCOMs bill monthly or bi-monthly; WBSEDCL's domestic schedule is written for a quarterly (~90 day) cycle, so the slab thresholds are large. MVCA — the moving surcharge
West Bengal adds a Monthly Variable Cost Adjustment (MVCA) that changes every billing month to track fuel costs. Because it moves, this calculator does not include it, so your actual bill will differ by the prevailing MVCA.

WBSEDCL के बारे में
The West Bengal State Electricity Board (WBSEB) was formed in 1955. Under the state's 2007 Power Reform Scheme, it was unbundled on 1 April 2007 into West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (WBSEDCL) for distribution and West Bengal State Electricity Transmission Company Ltd (WBSETCL) for transmission.
WBSEDCL distributes power across most of West Bengal, but not Kolkata: the city, Howrah and parts of North/South 24 Parganas and Hooghly are served by CESC Limited, a long-standing private distribution licensee with its own separate tariff.
